The western vinery history got its importance according to religious believe. As in last supper, Jesus said that the wine is my blood; which also represents the continuation of his philosophy. In fact we know that the GRAIL, as a symbol of container for the Christianity in the West. For me, it is the „Drive‟ that human got significance in this liquid. Thus I have positioned human at the center and there should not be any obstacle in it so my floor is transparent. Here comes another point that what makes German viticulture different from others? Its natural and topographical settings are unique thus to represent its country side, the German vernacular architecture‟s half-timber wooden frame was chosen in a modern way. Although the remains of the monastery include the 13th century gothic church; it is a cross-vaulted, colonnaded basilica with an extraordinarily long nave, a peculiar western façade, and a late Romanesque double-naved cloister.
The original building (1137–40) is of Romanesque style, while the restoration (1251–1268) belongs to the early Gothic. None of them are considered for this project as I think they are distinct by their own expression. Imitation in modern façade is somewhat common creativity to my opinion.
I also believe that the participatory activity of „Drinkers‟ and make them travel through all the wine making process to enjoy it in a newer way was derived from this concept. As once Martin Luther said, “The enjoyment of wine as a biblical blessing”.

Technické informace

The winery (Landesweingut) Kloster Pforta in Bad Kösen looks back at 850 years of tradition and is one of the largest wineries in Germany. In the course of development of the winery estate and the capacity expansion to 75 hectares of land and an annual production of 5000hl wine, a new building of the winery on the monastery grounds is planned. In the current conditions of the buildings, the wine production of the site from economic and planning point of view are not optimal. The lack of space leads to a labor-intensive and unstructured way of working and affects productivity. Within the company increases the logistics and transport expenses. With the construction of the winery not only the aim is to optimize production processes and to expand the production areas, but also to improve the customer contact and customer service and utilize the tourism potential.
