Multifunctional Athletic Hall and Velodrome in Brno / Polyfunkční atletická hala a velodrom v Brně

Idea projektu

Předmětem projektu je návrh lehkoatletické haly v kombinaci s velodromem v Brně Bohunicích pro 3000 sedících diváků. Hala by měla sloužit pro více než 4500 atletů a dráhových cyklistů z Brna a okolí a splňovat technické i provozní požadavky pro konání soutěží dle IAAF. Součástí návrhu je i sportovně-rekreační park obklopující halu ze severu. Hlavním cílem návrhu bylo vytvořit halu, která by byla využívána nejen sportovci v zimním období, ale nabízela i další možnosti sportovního a kulturního vyžití také obyvatelům okolí po celý rok.

The subject is the design of an alethic hall in combination with the velodrome in Brno Bohunice for 3000 sitting spectators. The hall should serve for more than 4500 athletes and track cyclists from Brno and its surroundings and fulfill the technical and operational requirements for organizing IAAF competitions. Part of the design is a sports and recreational park surrounding the building from the North. The main objective of the proposal was to create a hall that would be used not only by athletes in the winter, but also would offer other opportunities for sports and cultural events to the inhabitants of the area throughout the year.

Popis projektu

Návrh polyfunkční haly byl vytvořen na základě skutečného investičního záměry atletické haly Campus, která má na řešeném pozemku vzniknout v příštích dvou letech. Město jednu dobu uvažovalo o jejím spojení s velodromem, jelikož stávající brněnský velodrom je svým technickým stavem nevyhovující, ale kvůli finančním prostředkům z toto záměru nakonec sešlo. Tento projekt je tedy jeho možnou alternativou.

Lokalita
Pozemek se nachází v Brně v katastrálním území Bohunice a je obklopen ze severu lesem, ze západu rychlostní silnicí spojující dálnici D1 a centrum města, z jihu obchodním domem Campus a z východu Fakultou sportovních studií MU. Největším potenciálem území je jeho přímá návaznost na les a zeleň ze severu v kombinaci s návaznosti na městkou zástavbou z jihu, jež jasně definovala vstupy a napojení a technickou a dopravní infrastrukturu.

Návrh
Koncept vychází nadále s dalšího potenciálu území a tou je svažitost terénu, jež umožnila rozdělení pozemku do dvou výškových úrovní. První úroveň, městská, je přímo navazující na jižní městkou zástavbu a nachází se zde hlavní shromažďovací prostor a také hlavní vstup do haly. Druhá úroveň, parková, je oproti té první o 5 metrů snížena, a naopak navazuje na les ze severu. Hmota stavby je umístěna mezi úrovně tak aby tvořila vstupní napojení na jedné úrovni 1NP i na druhé tedy 1PP otočné do parku. Celkový obestavěný prostor byl nadále zmenšen zvolením vhodného konstrukčního systému.

Sportovně rekreační park
Součástí návrhu není jen samotná hala ale i její nejbližší okolí v podobě sportovně rekreačního parku. V parku nalezneme několik druhů sportovišť pro výkonnostní (bmx dráha, vrhačská louka) i rekreační sport. Nalezneme zde například několik druhů sportovních hřišť, tenisové, basketbalové nebo volejbalové, outdoor workout zónu, dětské hřiště, vše je potom protkáno systémem běžeckých stezek nabízejících různě dlouhé běžecké okruhy. Součástí landscapingu parku jsou i tzv. přírodní tribuny, kterého se nacházejí na několika místech parku a nabízejí výhledy na různá druhy sportovišť.



The design of the multifunctional hall was created on the basis of the real investment intention of the Athletic hall Campus, which will be build on the solved plot in the next two years. The city was considering its combination with the velodrome as well, as the current Brno velodrome was inappropriate for its technical condition, but it was eventually canceled due to the financial means of this project. This project is therefore a possible alternative.

Location
The plod is located in Brno in the area Bohunice and is surrounded from the north by the forest, from the west by the highway connecting the D1 motorway and the city center, the south by the department store Campus and the east by the Faculty of Sports Studies of MU. The greatest potential of the area is its direct link to the forest and greenery from the north combined with the urban developmenton the South, which clearly defines the entrances to the plot and connections to the technical and transport infrastructure.

Proposal
The concept continues with the further potential of the territory, and this is the sloped terrain, which allowed the division of the plot into two levels. The first level, urban, is directly connected to the southern urban area and there is a main gathering area and a main entrance to the hall. The second level, the park, is lowered from the first one by 5 meters, and on the other hand, it links to the forest from the north. The mass of the building is located between the levels so that it forms the inlet connection at one level on the ground floor and the other one on the underground floor on the other side. The total enclosure space was further reduced by selecting a suitable construction system.

Sports recreational park
The design does not contain only the hall itself, but also its closest neighborhood in the form of a sports recreational park. In the park we will find several kinds of sports grounds for professional athetes (bmx track, throwing meadows) and recreational sports. For example, there are several types of sports playgrounds, tennis, basketball or volleyball, outdoor workout zone, childrens playground, everything is interwoven with a running trail system offering various cross-country sruns. Part of the landscaping of the park are the so-called natural tribunes, which are located in several parts of the park and offer views of various types of sports grounds.

Technické informace

Provozní schéma
Provoz haly je rozdělen na provoz a prostory pro diváky, sportovce a média a organizátory. Divák vstupuje do haly z hlavního shromažďovacího prostoru na úrovni 1NP a nadále pokračuje do okružní chodby a vstupuje na tribunu jedním z 12ti vstupů. Součástí okružní chodby je i vyhlídkový lounge, který nabízí výhled na přilehlý park a okolí stejně jako v jednom křídle umístěná restaurace nebo druhém obchod se suvenýry.
Sportovec vstupuje do haly stejným vchodem jako divák, nadále však pokračuje o podlaží níže kde se nachází jeho veškeré zázemí jako jsou šatny, fyzioterapie, regenerace, posilovna, nářaďovny, prostor pro svolávání sportovců, prostor pro seřizování kol a jejich uskladnění a také tréninkový tunel napojený přímo na sportovní park.

Konstrukce
Konstrukce stavby je řešena na základě provázání jak konstrukce tribuny, střechy i fasády dohromady. Konstrukce tribuny je řešena železobetonovými nosníky podepřenými v jejich polovině dalším nosníkem. Jelikož se tribuna ke svým stranám zmenšuje, i velikost a průřez těchto nosníků je menší. Na vrcholu tohoto áčkového nosníku je posazen ocelový trojrozměrný věnec, který je už součástí konstrukce tažené střechy.

Geometrie střechy vychází z tvaru hyperbolického paraboloidu, do něhož je promítnut základní půdorysný tvar stavby, tedy elipsa. Tato promítnutá elipsa je pak obvodovou linií ocelového věnce. Směr táhel je určen přímkovými řezy plochy. Na táhlech jsou posazeny dřevěné kazety s izolační vrstvou a hliníkovou střešní krytinou. Aby bylo do haly, hlavně tedy na sportovní plochy, přivedeno co nejvíce nepřímého denního osvětlení, je do střechy umístěn systém obloukových světlíků.

Fasáda
Fasáda navazuje na tradiční materiály a koresponduje s typologií a také konstrukcí samotné cyklistické dráhy. Jedná se o dřevěné obložené kombinované s prosklením, které má za úkol přivést světlo do okružní chodby.

Tribuna a konfigurace sportovní plochy
Tribuna je rozdělena do několika sektorů v závislosti na kvalitě viditelnosti, její pozici a od toho se odvíjející ceny za lístek. Jihovýchodní tribuna je vyšší a v jejím vrcholu nalezneme skyboxy pro VIP hosty a také kabinu pro režii, media a komentátory. Celá tribuna byla řešena na základě křivky viditelnosti tak, aby vyhověla v každém svém místě normám pro prostory pro diváky.
Jelikož se jedná o multifunkční halu, která má být v provozu po celý rok, byly zde navrženy různé konfigurace sportovní plochy. Základní konfigurací je souběžný tréning cyklistů i sportovců, kdy jsou zastavěny dvě vnější běžecké dráhy a na jejich rozhraní je ze střechy spuštěna sít. Dalšími možnými konfiguracemi jsou tedy závody cyklistů a atletů nebo je zde možnost vystavět jiná sportoviště či pódia pro společenské či kulturní akce a také zvýšení kapacity haly cca o 600 míst pomocí mobilních tribun.



Operating scheme
The operation of the hall is divided into operation and spaces for spectators, athletes and media and organizers. The spectator enters the hall from the main gathering area on the ground floor level and continues into the circular corridor and enters the tribune with one of the 12 inputs. A viewing lounge is also part this corridor and offers views of the adjacent park and surrounding area, as well as restaurant inside one wing or souvenir shop in the second.
The Athlete enters the hall with the same entrance as the spectators, but continues to the floor below where all his facilities are located, such as changing rooms, physiotherapy, regeneration, gym, instructor's space for convening athletes, space for wheel adjustment and storage, and a training tunnel directly connected with the sports park.

Structure scheme
The structure of the building is based on the interconnection of the structure of the tribune, the roof and the facade together. The structure of the tribune is solved by reinforced concrete beams supported in their half by another beam. As the tribune shrinks to its sides, the size and cross-section of these beams is also smaller. At the top of this A-beam is a steel three-dimensional circular truss, which is already part of the design of the cable net roof.

The geometry of the roof is based on the shape of a hyperbolic paraboloid, in which the basic ground plan shape of the structure, the ellipse, is projected. This projected ellipse is then a circumferential line of the steel truss. The direction of the cables is determined by straight line cuts. The timber cassettes with insulating layer and aluminum roofing are mounted on the cabels. In order to put as much indirect daylight as possible into the hall, especially on the sports grounds, the arched skylight system is placed on the roof.

Facade
The façade is build on traditional materials and corresponds to the typology and structure of the cycle track itself. It is made of timber pane combined with a glazing that has the task of bringing light into the corridor.

Tribune and configuration of the sports area
The Tribune is divided into several sectors depending on the quality of visibility, its position, and the resulting ticket prices. The southeast tribune is taller and at in its peak there are skyboxes for VIP guests as well as a cab for overhead, media and commentators. The entire tribune was designed on the basis of a visibility curve to meet the audience standards in every place.
Since it is a multifunctional hall and should be in operation throughout the year, various configurations of the sporting area were designed here. The basic configuration is the simultaneous training of cyclists and athletes, when two external runways are overbuild with cycling track safety zone and a network is triggered from the roof. Other possible configurations are competitions of cyclists and athletes, or there is the possibility to build other sports grounds or stages for social or cultural events as well as to increase the capacity of the hall by about 600 seats using mobile tribunes.
