Project idea

The main learning objective of this project is to learn how to place ideas into an actual physical context. To experiment with the materials and realize that without the materiality any excellent idea can lose its impact or original intent. To learn the importance of the user. To learn to ask oneself how users interact with an object or within a space. The final learning objective is to develop a sense of independent thinking by taking ownership of their design ideas.
This Project was constructed within COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Main Campus.
All the project was done by myself and my team, From procurement of material to realisation of the project. it was built in almost 2.5 weeks.

Project description

CONCEPT: “MOVE ON”.
History has proof that ever since the days of Colloseum and Haghia Sophia, the general public has been a victim of illusions created by their rulers or the higher ups. People spend major parts of their lives in those delusions. They have been distracted from the worst political situations and riots via mere sources of entertainment. They have been manipulated and not only their minds and beliefs but their faith has also been tampered with.
Even today, as the situation in our country gets worse every day, we are being distracted. Either by scheme, a scholarship, a road, a promise that is never meant to be upheld, we are being constantly distracted.
I wanted to express how such distractions actually help us to cope-up with prevailing terrorism. It is an actual working coping mechanism for the people of this country. How we have learnt that life goes on and people move-on!
How we find peace, even when terror is looking us straight in the eyes like a predator does its prey.
Peace is what is depicted in the art installation that I have built. I have purposely added elements into my design that give you an experience of peace. For instance: If you take a look at the shadows you’ll realize that the crisscross pattern is very harmonious to look at. The bells were added because the sounds they produce are very soothing and have a calming effect on the senses. The red color of bamboos balances the green grass background. The height of the bamboos also balances the flat ground.

A small poem to represent the Project..
"Move on!" they say, "Move On!"
"This is Life!" they say, "This is Life!"
No more permission to go party out late
No more charity to poor, "Don't Give away!", they say.
But as soon they see the flowers bloom
They let me play.
I went to pluck the red rose,
it wasn't real,a hoax?
"Move on!" they say, "Move on!"
