HELUZ Family Clay Blocks

External insulation of the house may still have its justification in older buildings, but in new houses the use of external insulation is problematic and especially outdated. For example, HELUZ FAMILY 44 bricks alone achieve a heat transfer coefficient of U = 0.17 W/m2K, i.e. at a level above the standard parameters for low-energy construction - the same as, for example, the classic HELUZ UNI 30 brick plus 16 cm of additional insulation. Therefore, there are a number of arguments for the construction of single-layer masonry, especially economic, ecological and health arguments - the construction of single-layer masonry from HELUZ FAMILY bricks has a longer service life, for the same price it is faster by up to two months, without the risk of technological defects during the installation of additional insulation, single-layer masonry is more diffusely permeable, because it has 4-6 times better diffusion properties than EPS (polystyrene) used for insulation systems.

Clay Blocks with internal and external plaster is, unlike the construction with external insulation system, much less susceptible to degradation, both biological (algae adhesion, mould) and mechanical (resistance of the facade to bird pecking, children's games - not only ball games, even a bicycle leaning on the polystyrene-insulated facade can make a hole in it, etc.). It also has optimal physical properties (e.g. acoustics, fire resistance, low thermal conductivity, natural water vapour permeability, safety).

In addition to the shorter lifetime of external insulation, there is another problem with additional insulation, namely moisture. If a new house is built, it takes some time for the building to dry out. In practice, however, insulation is applied as soon as it is completed. Especially with poorly done insulation, it happens that moisture cannot escape from the house cladding and condenses in the masonry. The result is the formation of health-threatening mould inside the house, which is very difficult to remove. HELUZ FAMILY 44 bricks are not insulated, so they are vapour permeable. Therefore, there is no risk of water vapour accumulating in the structure; on the contrary, it can pass through to the surface of the building. For this reason too, the houses are healthier to live in and have a very pleasant climate.
