About INSPIRELI AWARDS

“Wings to the Future” winner’s trophy

New in the INSPIRELI AWARDS fourth annual

The competition is open to all students of architecture who are enrolled as students after 1 October 2018.

Contestants enter projects in 3 categories (Architecture, Urban planning and landscape, Interior design).

Each contestant can submitted more project in more than 1 category.
Contestant can submit project as an individual or a team work.

The "Featured jury" is created for each category.

The student can also create a draft of a real project of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, which is judged by a special jury. Such a project will also compete within the Inspireli Awards architecture category.

The jury

The quality standards of INSPIRELI AWARDS jury is guaranteed by the prominent experts from the professional and academic settings from around the world. The set up for the jury updates annually and the jurors are selected based on their expertise in one of the INSPIRELI AWARDS contest categories.

Contestants enter projects in 3 categories (Architecture, Urban planning and landscape, Interior design).

The projects are nominated by the so-called Featured Jury composed of architects who support the Inspireli Awards project.

The project of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, has its own expert jury approved by the organizers.

Evaluation criteria

The submitted projects are evaluation according to the criteria, which is constantly adapted to the latest findings in formal, technical, functional and environmental requirements. The criteria below represent a framework followed by each juror.

Suitability of design to the competition

How well does the project translate and interpret lucidly and creatively the INSPIRELI AWARDS merit.

Spatial integration

Does the design complement and is sensitive to its surroundings we well as the way how the people interact with the space, create pride and unique character.

Functionality of the design solution

How well does the project work for the intended use, while contributing to the locality?

Innovation and originality of the design solution

Does the project create a new expression that possibly sets a new trend?

Form

Is the project managed with high quality, not as a trendy/cutting edge solution but with relevance to its audience.

Environmental consideration

How well does the project minimize negative impact on ecological environment incl. technical and economical feasibility.

Proposal of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Addis Abeba / Ethiopia

Submitted projects will compete in two awards at the same time. In the category architecture as a student design and in the competition for the proposal of the embassy in Addis Abeba.

Awards prizes

There are 3 Category winners awarded and 1 Special real design award price.

"Architecture" Award

Awarded to the best architectural project with the highest number of votes from the jury dedicated to the architecture category.

"Urban design and landscape" Award

Awarded to the best architectural project with the highest number of votes from the jury dedicated to the urban planning and landscape category.

"Interior design" Award

Awarded to the best architectural project with the highest number of votes from the jury dedicated to the interior design category.

Special real design award price

Independent award for the proposal of the Czech embassy in Addis Ababa / Ethiopia. The project will be completed by the architectural studio on the basis of the student's design.

Selection process

Voting process takes place for each category by the "Category Featured juror panel".

The Featured jurors nominate the best 30 projects to the final for each category, nominations will be officially published on the INSPIRELI AWARDS website.

The final jury will evaluate the final projects and their votes will select the winners of each category.

In the event of multiple projects, the final selection will be made by the Chairman of the INSPIRELI AWARDS jury.

The award for the design of a real project of the Czech Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, is selected by an independent panel based on its selection. Embassy proposals are also included in the category of architecture, where they will compete in the INSPIRELI AWARDS international student competition.
