Project idea

The final objective of this design is to propose a model that is on one hand, based on the patterns of Iranian architecture specific to warm and dry climate, such as Badgir (traditional conditioning system), Fakhr-o-madin, central yard, pit garden and the like, while also being compatible with modern conceptual architecture in relation to the landscape of the site, resulting in a consistent body. The model is to be based on mathematics, offering a network that is defined in connection with the main urban skeleton and structure. This model enhances pedestrian movement, accounting for the tourist attractions of the region; resulting to the social contexts needed for the enhancement of social interactions and communications.

Project description

The revival of historic landscapes has been a challenging topic for the disciplines of urban design, architecture and urban renovation. There are various theories in this regard based on past experiences and circumstances. The lack of proper knowledge and analysis of the urban context of historic landscapes, shortage of comparative studies, lack of proper understanding regarding the specific features of historic landscapes and the underlying causes of their decline can be considered among the key factors behind the incompletion of many renovation plans, and in a more comprehensive view, failed urban plans. Neglecting the social, cultural and historical values inherent to historic landscapes, and adopting a museum-like approach to these buildings by the authorities, has led to a merely superficial definition of renovation. The view adopted by this design for the renovation of historic landscape is compliant with the principles of urban design, the flow network of movement in historic landscape and is integrated with relevant social aspects. The presented design intends to construct a rational connection between the behavioral needs of users and the space capabilities in historic landscapes via a movement model. This encourages the populace for moving towards the landscape, enhancing their presence in there and resulting in the strengthening of the constant social life which has faded away from historic landscapes due to a reduction in urban qualities.
The goal is to attain the final objective of the design, that is, enhancement of social interactions based on environmental qualities and capabilities. In addition, space capacities and the expenses of urban development needed for the implementation of the model have been taken into account. The proposed model has been applied using meta-innovative methods due to the large scope and high temporal complexity of the problem.
To provide people with feelings of movement and being invited, while providing a place for conversation.Design as a medium containing the conceptual elements of Iranian architecture, such as Badgir (traditional conditioning system), Fakhr-o-madin, central yard, pit garden, etc., capable of reviving the local landscape;
