The property is located in a quiet area near the village of Bistritsa in Sofia, Bulgaria. The house is designed for a musician. Attention is focused on the selection of such elements that correspond to the natural setting and create a desire for creativity.
I wanted to create a space that not only met all the standard aesthetic and functional requirements for a single-family home, but also served the specific needs of a musician. So, with every solution I included in the design, I thought about how to integrate elements that support the musical process – from comfortable practice to the possibility of recording music in the specially equipped studio.
One of the features of this project is the careful thought of the transition from the musician’s private space to the public part of the house. This was done with the help of an atrium. This inner courtyard is the area that connects the two aspects of the home, and its roof composed of exposed wooden beams, crowned with vines, provides a unique aesthetic experience. With the help of symmetrically placed doors, the transition from music lounge to living room is easily realized. The glazing allows visibility to the open courtyard from every point of view.
