Technical information

Master plan is developed from deep understanding of the campus with similar project in and around the country, sketching out options to find out the pros and con on each of them. Many criteria were considered activity generating spaces, accessibility and pedestrian walking distance.

Technical drawing made the concept almost real and the structure had to adopt many old technique for the soil retention and form of the building. Concept was to basically manipulate the flat terrain in the region with a slopes, flat and curvy.

Any building should carry the context to make itself relevant, but NID was surrounded by a flat green field and beautiful stone masonry. The overall idea of the building grew as a terrain from the flat ground. the central grand plaza with reflection pond and all the blocks facing the pond have good visual connectivity with large curtain wall. The artificial slopes created along building are kept intact by soil nailing technique.
