Project idea

Existing buildings have been upgraded and renovated 3 times so far, and designs and distribution materials of the trends of that era were found. As various elements were mixed, we were attracted by the beauty of the pine wood as well as the ceiling of a certain pine plate from the time of completion at the time of completion, and made use of the ceiling of this beautiful pine plate as the core of the design.

Project description

The site is located in Yoshii Town, Ukiha City in the southern part of Fukuoka Prefecture. From the Mt. Otari mountain area on the south side of the town, it is a land where you can enjoy rich water, wind and spectacular scenery. The plan is the renovation of Japanese houses for 60 years built at the foot of Mt. The three inhabitants were middle-aged and wanted a little more rich living space than the present.

Technical information

In the private house of the shaft construction method like this time there is no inner wall called the load bearing wall and the living space is divided only by the basic fittings, and if you remove the fittings it becomes only the column space to form the outline of the room. I changed the column space from the existing earth wall to a glass plate. Even in a state where the fittings are closed, the transparent space spreads the ceiling of the pine board to the entire building, and aimed at a space with a unique sequence that functions thinly as the outline of the room if the fittings are removed.
