Fabian Reiner is an Austrian architect who is currently pursuing a postgraduate Masters degree in History and Critical Thinking at the Architectural Association in London. Prior to that, he obtained a Masters degree in Architecture from ETH Zurich and went on exchange to USI Mendrisio. Professional experience he gained at Leth & Gori in Copenhagen and through smaller commissions as independent architect across Austria.
Interested in the cross-disciplinarity of the field, Fabian is a periodic writer, leisure photographer and academic critic. He published in various magazines, including trans (ETH), blank (Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien) and FuZine (Ljubljana Biennial of Design), and exhibited at USI Mendrisio as well as the Museum für Gestaltung, Zurich. Since his degree, Fabian has academic experience as periodic reviewer for the History and Theory Studies and invited critic for OMMX Design Unit, both part of the Undergraduate School at the AA.
My research activity deals with various aspects of the Architectural Technology. The main themes tackled are considered as different facets of a scientific interest, which deals with processes of formation, transformation and maintenance of the built environment, in its most varied manifestations. The main research interests are: Architectural Heritage; Rural and Vernacular Architecture; Environmental Architectural Design; Sustainability in Architecture.
