Project idea

This project deals with the meaning of an embassy in our time/age. Its purpose is to break down the barriers between the formal institutes and the public community. Therefor being part of the city’s landscape in a democratic country, reflects it’s being the connection between people and the state. I believe that the space of government institutes in democracy should serve the people and give public service, instead of being disconnected and monumental by nature.
The relationships between different countries should also reflect this state of mind, and this project strives to achieve this by creating an embassy as a place for the people to meet and connect.
Therefor the typology of the project aspires to be gentle and humble, relative to its environment and in keeping with the areas scale and character.

Project description

The planning strategy is creating an equitable grid that has two meanings – first, creating an organizational scheme, as a planning field to place the different functions, in a way that doesn’t prioritize one over the other. Secondly, this grid creates an architectural language and allows various elements to be employed easily in dynamic situations.
