Project idea

The main idea of our project is to unite various buildings into a single complex around the courtyard. The designed courtyard must be used for holding representative events. We also have designed three separate gardens that will be used respectively by the consular and visa sections and residential part. To form a building image, we have studied the history of Czech architecture and have selected a few elements typical of Czech architecture. The first element is a shape of the old town of Prague buildings’ roofs, and the second one is the decorative pattern of Schwarzenberg Palace. After selecting the elements which can introduce Czech culture, we have tried to combine Czech heritage with modern architecture.

Project description

First of all we choose the most appropriate layout for entrances to the plot. The main entrance is located in the southern part, the alternative exit is placed in the eastern part. In order to separate the problematic spaces in the western part of the plot from the main complex , we offer to construct a road with a fence. Outside of the fence we have placed building for local workforce and parking for visitors and the staff. The fence has an entrance for the staff and local workforce.
There are three more entrances. The first is only for the residence, the second is for technical support, the third one is for visitors of consular and visa department.
The complex consists of six parts with various functions: representative and office parts (the official embassy building), consular and visa department, residence, technical support, residential building, building for local workforce.
- Official embassy building
This building has two entrances respectively for offices and representative part. The Office building has two floors: sections B,C,D are placed on the ground floor and section A is on the first flour.
The representative section has only one floor and a roof terrace. The assembly hall, the dining room, the coffee lounge and other representative spaces are placed on the ground floor.
For the covering of the roof terrace we have used the designed roof mentioned in the first part of the description. The representative kitchen is placed in the technical part of the complex and is connected with the representative section with a bridge.
- Consular and visa section
This section has two floors. Meeting room, visiting rooms and security windows are on the ground floor. Consular and visa offices which are connected with the office section with a bridge are on the first floor.
- Residence
The Residence has three floors. The ground floor is for representative cases, the first floor is for the ambassador and his family, the second floor is for guests.
- Residential building
This block has four floors. There are three apartments on each floor, two of this are so-called studio apartments. The Residential building has its own yard, where we have placed a swimming pool, tukul and a playground for stuff’s children.
- Building for local workforce
This building is situated on the western part of the plot and has two floors. Each floor of this building has two apartments. Support facilities are placed on the ground floor. A big terrace for all occupants is on the first floor.
- Technical support
All technical facilities are gathered on the northern part of the plot, and are separated with a fence. In the basement we have placed the half of technical facilities and two parkings (the residence, the official embassy building). We also offer a shelter for security purposes.
