Project idea

The project is aimed at ensuring the productive efficiency of the embassy complex and comfortable living of the embassy staff on its territory. Five strategically-located buildings provide private business meetings and deals, and a comfortable pastime for residents and guests of the embassy, as well as local labor.
The complex is designed in the same style, which includes both classical European and elements of modern architecture. Elements of the classical and, in particular, Czech architecture are used moderately to attempt to introduce them into the new environment of a subequatorial climate with characteristic vegetation and landscapes.

Project description

The project consists of five buildings. Logically correctly located objects ensure the most beneficial use of land resources and the smooth operation of each department of the embassy.
Despite its style, the complex does not tend to stand out among the Addis Ababa environment. The height of the buildings does not exceed three floors, the territory is landscaped with local trees and shrubs. Also in the recreation area is the Ethiopian national "Tukul".
The official building of the embassy provides representative and official zones on the first floor, and office spaces on the second floor. The second floor also plays the role of a canopy, creating a shadow in the courtyard in which you can hide while being in the fresh air. The lobbies of both floors have glazing on the ceilings to provide natural light. From the back of the embassy building there is a landscaped garden with a fountain for walking.
The embassy building is connected to a residential building for embassy staff through a corridor. Families of employees living in this area have access to the swimming pool and sports area.

Technical information

The total built-up area is 1645 sq.m.
From the main entrance there are 10 surface and 10 underground parking spaces. The residence of the ambassador is provided with a private garage.
In the northwestern part of the site there is a collection of waste and entry for its taking away. At all entrances and exits there are checkpoints and security posts.
Ceramic tiles on the roofs of buildings and light ventilated facades allow to avoid overheating of the premises, and also serve as a durable protection against natural precipitation. The main building materials are local (brick, wood, etc.).
