Project idea

The Project in the island of Ischia, follow the idea to connect three different parts of the coast line looks the Tyrrhenian sea and Naples, visually and with a continuous pathways along the beach. The idea focus in three different sites, and wants to bring to people new spaces for Ischia Ponte.

Project description

The project created a roof for the Assunta Cathedral made of steel in the island of Aragonese Castle and a transformation of an ancient prison in a Historical and art museum for the island. Also the urban project integrated an abandoned area, where our project tried to develop a free space for the island with a parking, small open roof, sport centre and a equipped spaces for the beach.

Technical information

The roof for the Cathedral is made of steel recovered with bronze and follows the ancient facade shape of the destroyed church. The space under the roof is a multifunctional area thought for theatre representation, music performance and so on. The museum grow up from the ancient wall made of stone, like a big addiction made of concrete brick and the detachment between the ancient and the new architecture is separated by a continuous windows. The museum hold sculpture and paintings of Naples gulf artists. Also the new architecture tried to defines a new common square in front of the sea.
