Project idea

The main project strategies focus on the need to relate to the morphology of Marghera and on the concept of flexible spaces designed for the comunity and for the indivisual user.
The aesthetic aspect of the buildings and its harmonious relationship with the site are strongly linked to the experience of nature.

Project description

The central point of the project is the uncovered public square at the first level of the basament. The basament will host a multi – purpose hall, resturants and public spaces.
The property of the site defines a reinforced concrete basament with three main facades
The East front, that dialogues with the park, is characterized by terraces and openings.
On the ground floor, there are a series of empty spaces that filter the light and reflect the surrounding nature.
The South front is characterized by an open monumental staircase. This invites you to enter the central square.
The goal of the project is to create an organic and functional architecture. For this reason, in the basement overlooking the canal, there is a transparent facade. This gives an idea of cohesion and constant dialogue between the internal and external elements.
The housing spaces are located inside three towers emerging from the basament. The position of the towers has been designed to enable an always different view of the landscape.
Moreover, the floor of each tower consists of three rings. The first is the services ring; then there are the living spaces and finally the terraces. For this reason, the quality of the interior spaces is more fluent for the users.

Technical information

Another added value of the project is the wooden and concrete structure. The tower’s structure is characterized by a central concrete core. It host the staircase and the elevator. The pillars and the slabs, instead, are made of wood
The use of wood is evident in the continous glass facades.
The facede is dictated by the rhytm of the larch pillars that are extended to the top of the tower in contact with the sky.
