Project idea

The idea to create a cafe in a simplified Gothic style, a parodies, came from aesthetic views. The legacy of Gothic is very impressive. The functionality of this sketch is not complete. It can be not only a restaurant, but also any other public buildings. Many people say that it reminds the church because of some characteristic details, but in many respects there are differences.
Gothic style is a masterpiece of architecture, people of all countries recognize it. I left some elements just reminiscent of the gothic, for the easy impression for that a person who is looking at him. So that the same impression could get a person who get passing along the street, on which there were no authentic Gothic buildings.
This building is located on the outskirts of Kiev, in a place where not all people have ever seen real gothic art. This is a parody that would evoke a desire to know more, or to feel in the modern-Gothic world, when among the high-rise boxes the image of the Gothic church grows.

Project description

The construction of the building consists of reinforced concrete. Facing material - travertine. The angle of the roof is 55 °. The foundation is a belt. The thickness of the bearing walls is 300 mm. The windows are pentagonal, in some places they repeat the angle of the roof. The main facade uses 2 solid windows with original frames. Windows provide penetration of a large amount of light.

The restaurant consists of the main hall, which is divided into 2 floors. Entrance through the tambour. From the first floor there is access to a small terrace. On the ground floor in the zone of visitors there is also a wardrobe, a toilet for men and women, as well as a toilet for disabled people. In the work area there is a kitchen, with it an exit to the dishwashing room, which illuminates through the skylights in the roof. There is also a room for staff, which has a toilet and a shower, a cloakroom and a dining room. Room for the adenistrator. Two warehouses. An exit for the personnel.
