When designing the concept, I was based on the goal of preserving important views and vistas in the given space. To achieve this, I identified three key locations from which I defined the view and vista axes, which became the determining element of the overall solution. Based on these axes, I created two separate objects, which I decided to connect with each other. At the point of their intersection, I deliberately removed part of the mass, creating a spacious terrace. I subsequently modified the shape of this terrace to allow optimal views from each of its locations. Thanks to this modification, the terrace offers a view of the museum grounds, the mining tower and the surrounding heaps, making the space not only functional, but also visually attractive and connected to the surrounding environment.
The scope of the solution included: designing a visitor center for the given area and making it more attractive. Additionally, it also involved analyzing the entire area from an urban planning perspective.
The structure is made mainly of reinforced concrete. Corten is used on the facade.
