Wave in the City: Meandra Residential Complex in Moscow

Project idea

"Meandra" is a symphony of opposites, where the harmony of nature and the dynamics of the city merge into a single whole. It is a place where you can enjoy peace and comfort while remaining at the heart of the action. It is a home that inspires and gives a sense of freedom.

The building's concept is based on the contrast between the exterior and interior spaces. The exterior facade, clad in sandstone and glass, creates a sense of fluidity and dynamism, reminiscent of the marine element. The interior, with its protruding balconies and terraces, reflects the rhythm of big city life – the hustle, energy, and diversity.

Project description

The building's form, smooth and fluid, resembles a river bend or a gentle wave. Its semi-circular shape creates a sense of spaciousness and openness, providing residents with panoramic views of the city landscape. "Meandra" doesn't just stand on the shore; it seems to grow out of it, organically integrating into its surroundings.

The heart of the complex is its stylobate – a multi-functional space combining privacy and public life. Above the two-level underground parking lies an oasis for residents: a landscaped courtyard with children's and sports playgrounds, immersed in greenery. Stepping above ground level, you find yourself in a world of tranquility and comfort, where the city's hustle and bustle are left behind.

The ground floors of "Meandra" are an active public space, featuring commercial areas, shops, and cafes, creating a vibrant embankment atmosphere. Above, like seafoam, rise the floors with comfortable apartments, each offering a unique view of the city.

Entry to the building is possible from both the embankment side and through the stylobate. The pedestrian bridge, connecting "Meandra" to other buildings in the area, is not only an element of infrastructure but also a symbol of unity and interconnectedness for residents. This "red thread" unites people, creating a unified urban community.
