Project idea

The idea of this project is to give a twist to modern amphitheaters and the way we view them. The structure itself is very complicated when compared to usual amphitheaters and even though it is open, the steel structure above it acts as a cover, but not quite. The only truly open area in this "in the round" amphitheater is the stage, which is in the center of the building. The project does not have a set location, as it can be placed in any location that has sufficient greenery around it, to add to the grandeur of the amphitheater. The venue is perfect for use in the summer period, but not limited to. It can host a variety of events, like concerts, plays, stand up comedy acts etc.

Project description

The components of the building are fairly simple, as the main goal of the project is to accommodate the audiences in the simplest and most comfortable way. Albeit, the most interesting solution that "in the round" amphitheaters provide is the ability of the performers to engage in a more intimate way with the audience. The central area is wide enough to hosts activities of different kinds. One of the goals of this project was to turn this amphitheater into a landmark with its interesting form, even when not being used.

Technical information

The structure of the seating area is fairly simple and only has the function to accommodate the audience and it also includes accessible seating. The main structure and attraction of the building is the cover, which is made of white steel elements connected together. The material palette consists of three basic elements, wood, steel and concrete. Concrete and wood are used in the seating area.
