Project idea

The area is located in the center of Primorsky district. It is bounded on the south by Kamyshovaya Street to the intersection with Yakhtennaya Street, on the west by Shuvalovsky Prospekt, which also separates the territory from Yuntolovsky Forest Park, on the east by Yakhtennaya Street, and on the northeast by Planernaya Street. The total area is about 128 hectares. The design site is part of the key and largest element of the green framework of the area in the person of the Yuntolovsky Forest Park and Nature reserve, and is subject to significant anthropogenic impact. Its ecological value is determined not only by its close proximity to the protected area, but also by its role in maintaining the integrity of the local ecosystem.

Project description

The concept of the design solution was developed based on three fundamental principles that form the methodological basis of the entire project. The first and most significant principle involves the creation of a stable relationship between the projected territory and the existing green framework of the city, thereby ensuring the continuity and integrity of natural systems throughout the entire urban space. The second key principle is to implement a systematic approach to the organization of functional zoning and landscape structure of the territory. This implies a carefully thought-out distribution of various recreation areas, recreation areas and natural complexes, creating a balanced and harmonious environment. The third fundamental element of the concept was the development of a system of park verticals, architectural dominants that play not only an aesthetic but also an important functional role in the spatial organization of the territory. The entire territory was divided into 9 key park areas: an open swamp, a mixed forest, a floodplain forest, a birch grove, an embankment, the main square, open spaces, a nature conservation area and a buffer zone of the WНSD. Each of these zones includes different functional and landscape zones.

Technical information

The range of landscaping is selected in accordance with the ecological and climatic features of the territory, taking into account the green spaces existing in the park, as well as based on the avifauna protected in this area. Frame metal and wooden structures were used as the basis for the design of small architectural forms, mostly due to the fact that the park dominants are also frame structures. The coating design uses natural permeable materials, or, where this cannot be done without the risk of rapid wear and the need for frequent replacement, iron grilles. The main transit routes, walking routes, and squares are made in an impenetrable coating, such as rubber coating on sports grounds, concrete pouring in the skatepark area, and paving stones.
