Project idea

The idea was to generate privacy and security, granting each one their own visuals and overflows.

Project description

Our first objective was to create an appropriate project, in terms of size and character, to the surrounding environment. At the same time, it was critical to have a structure that fulfilled the functions of an embassy. To do this, five volumes are proposed with their different functions accesses and overflows.
The buildings with residential functions were located in the highest levels of the land, and positioned in such a way that in their overflows they can develop their daily activities in an intimate and private way. Both of the workers and ambassador residence, are closely linked to the official part. This is positioned in the center of the terrain with its own access.
The idea was that the spaces representative of the official part, take the prominence of it, and for this, it was positioned in north-south direction generating a bridge, making reference to the Charles Bridge in Prague, which allows to have visuals towards the square dry generated by himself and below him, place where they can perform acts, ceremonies, official parties among others.

Technical information

A bierendel beam generates a bridge where the representative spaces are located. A perforated sheet membrane acts double skin protecting and generating privacy. We also use concrete to give a sober appearance
