The Suhaymi X-Perience project reimagines Beit El Suhaymi as an immersive journey inspired by Space Age design. From the entrance to the final zone, visitors experience a seamless blend of historic character and futuristic elements like pods and reflective spheres. At the end, a café and arcade space complete the experience merging heritage with innovation.
The project involves reprogramming the spatial layout of Beit El Suhaymi into an interactive architectural journey inspired by Space Age design. The design solution integrates features such as a mirrored passage, suspended pods, and reflective spheres while preserving the site’s historical integrity. The project program includes several key zones: an entrance with a ticketing booth, a central display area with suspended reflective spheres, a café zone offering both indoor and outdoor seating along with an on-the-go pickup point, and a recreational arcade space in the Takhtaboosh. New architectural elements are integrated in a way that enhances, rather than disrupts, the traditional character of the building.
The project incorporates futuristic design elements into the historical context of Beit El Suhaymi through the use of modern materials and unconventional forms. The suspended spheres in the central space transform at night into interactive holographic projections, adding a dynamic visual layer. A red rocket structure is repeatedly used across different zones of the project as a signature visual element that guides circulation and reinforces the space-age theme. The entrance door is framed with a metallic rocket-inspired structure, enhanced by reflective metal finishes and accents of red that echo the rocket motif. Materials used include mirrored glass, polished metals, and dynamic lighting systems.
