Project idea

The interior design project is aimed at creating a cozy, aesthetically cohesive, and functional living space that reflects the clients’ individuality, lifestyle, and values.
The project is based on the layout of an apartment in the “Sosnovka” residential complex in Saint Petersburg.
The goal is to achieve a harmonious fusion of classical elegance with refined elements of Eastern aesthetics (chinoiserie), shaping an atmosphere of comfort, tranquility, and subtle exoticism.

Project description

The interior design of this comfort-class apartment is executed in a refined aesthetic, blending elements of classic style with the decorative elegance of chinoiserie. The visual concept is built around a soft, natural color palette—shades of beige, olive, terracotta, and light green—that evoke a sense of calm, warmth, and understated sophistication. The main focus is on creating a vibrant, lived-in space that reflects the lifestyle, tastes, and dreams of its residents.

The combined kitchen and living area is designed to be both functional and welcoming. The space feels light and open, with soft lighting, a cozy dining area, and accents such as decorative lighting fixtures and natural textures. Minimalist cabinetry, warm wood tones, and muted textiles create a modern yet inviting atmosphere suited for everyday life and social gatherings.

The master bedroom exudes a sense of tranquility and privacy. Soft natural hues, ceiling moldings, green accents, and vintage furniture lend the room character and elegance. Decorative elements—such as potted plants, figurines, and nature-inspired textiles—enhance the feeling of intimacy and calm. The lighting design combines a central chandelier with diffuse, ambient fixtures, producing a warm, enveloping glow.

Particular attention was given to the children’s room, designed for a 13-year-old girl with a passion for biology, butterfly collecting, and dreams of travel. The interior is filled with themes of nature, discovery, and imagination. The bed is designed as a cozy retreat, resembling a tent or expedition camp, with soft lighting and smart storage solutions. Decor, posters, collected objects, and natural materials contribute to a magical atmosphere that nurtures creativity and curiosity. The space feels deeply personal—a world of her own.

Overall, the apartment’s interior is distinguished by its thoughtful design, emotional depth, and balance between aesthetics, functionality, and individuality. It offers a comfortable and inspiring environment for rest, everyday living, and personal growth.

Technical information

The project involves the use of high-quality finishing materials with excellent durability and performance, fully aligned with the comfort-class standard.
The lighting design is carefully developed and thoughtfully executed: it includes ceiling chandeliers and spotlights, as well as localized soft lighting in specific areas, allowing for the creation of diverse atmospheric scenes throughout the day.
The furniture is primarily modular with custom-made elements, especially in the children’s room, emphasizing both ergonomics and aesthetic expressiveness.
Decor and textiles are selected in strict accordance with the overall stylistic concept, which combines chinoiserie and classic elements. The project features exclusive wallpaper by de Gournay.
