Project idea

The problem we are facing is to convert a current building of the city spa into a public library. Main spots of focus are definitely the pool (especially its floor) and the pool hall which provides a great space.

Project description

The main principles used is to clean the space of unwanted partition walls, and give each department its own floor. First floor consists of independent services such as a café, two multifunctional halls, a technology lab and the offices. The childrens section is located on the underground floor, it opens to the private garden through a new amphitheatre-like staircase. The main department is on the second floor the former pool hall gains a added floor this the youths department. The building is very segmented from the outside due to various reconstructions during its life, that is why I wrap up the main building in shading system, that helps the interior mickroklima and also brings compactness to the building.

Technical information

Most of the structures are original, the project builds neww floor in the pool area using concrete TT panels, the inserted floor in the main hall is a light wood structure. The renovation of the roof is made using concrete thrusts.
