Project idea

This project envisions a modular community library inspired by Bjarke Ingels' philosophy of bold, user-centered architecture. The idea is to rethink the library as an open, dynamic, and social space—beyond just reading. By stacking and shifting cubic volumes, the project creates zones for interaction, learning, and reflection, making the library a central cultural hub in the urban context.

Project description

The library is composed of three main levels organized through modular cubic volumes. Each volume defines a specific programmatic function—children’s zone, adult reading, presentation area, staff, and support services. Circulation flows vertically through central stairs and horizontally via open corridors. Natural lighting, spatial hierarchy, and the strong visual connection between floors enhance the user experience.

Technical information

The design is based on a regular modular grid. The structure uses reinforced concrete slabs and vertical cores. Façades are composed of large glass panels, timber cladding, and exposed concrete for a minimal, modern aesthetic. The building includes wind-protected entrance areas, wide staircases, and accessible design elements. Passive lighting strategies and vertical voids improve comfort and environmental performance.
