The idea of the project is to create a public transport stop that would support a nearby landmark. At the same time, it should be convenient for waiting for transport in different weather conditions and aesthetically attractive.
While developing the idea, I immersed myself in the history of creating the landmark closest to the bus stop, the Fire Tower. It's hard to imagine, but the fire station familiar to modern Yaroslavl residents once caused heated debates and discussions, and its appearance was not immediately accepted. It reminded me of the Eiffel Tower, which was also initially disliked by the people of Paris.
Therefore, in the transport stop project, inspired by the chronicles of the past, I used half-timbered "crosses", as in the "Iron Lady of France". The main material is steel.
And the red color was chosen not only as a bright accent, but also to maintain the theme of firefighting (red hydrants and fire trucks). There is one of the fire extinguishing machines nearby, which fits well with the projected stop.
The base of the structure is made of:
Cellular polycarbonate
Tempered glass
Steel beams 100x100 mm
Steel columns 120x120 mm
The roof of the bus stop is made of:
Cellular polycarbonate
Tempered glass
Steel beams 100x100 mm
And all this is based on the overlap of:
Concrete slab
Reinforcement frame
Waterproofing
Crushed stone
The transport stop is not afraid of the sun, rain, wind and darkness: it is equipped with lamps for a comfortable stay in the dark.
The "Pozharnaya Kalancha" transport stop project is a striking element of the landscape, inspired by local history and the importance of the cause of the valiant firefighters.
