The idea of the project is to develop a concept of forming a new park space, the problem is caused by the lack of an insufficient number of urban recreational areas in Volgograd and can be solved by placing new greening objects on the former inconvenient territories of the ravine and gully network of the city, which for many years were excluded from active urban planning use.
Based on this, the concept of the park's planned organization on the relief was developed. The park in the floodplain of the Mokraya Mechetka River in Volgograd will serve as an example of a harmonious combination of nature and infrastructure, the desire to create accessible and comfortable areas for recreation.
The park is located in a low part of the earth's surface. The central element of the park is a promenade on supports, which unites all the main zones of the park and different levels with significant relief differences, providing convenient movement of visitors throughout the territory. In the lower level of the promenade it is envisaged to locate built-in service facilities, and on the areas free from building elements of greenery. Thoughtful zoning of the territory allows to realize various activities - from sports to cultural and entertainment. The project proposes the use of natural contours of relief for space zoning, introduction of multi-level paths.
Functional zoning of the park includes: entrance zone, economic zone, cultural and educational events zone, sports and recreational zone, mass events zone, skateboarding, children's recreation and coastal zone.
