Project idea

The idea of this project is inspired by the traditional winemaking houses found in the Modra region. These buildings are characterized by their simplicity, honesty, and a deep connection to the land, craft, and culture of wine. The project aims to create a space that bridges history, heritage, and nature while responding to contemporary functional needs. The winery is designed not only as a production facility but also as a place for slowing down, experiencing, and learning about wine as an integral part of local culture and landscape.

Project description

This project consists of a multifunctional winery building that integrates production, tasting, exhibition, and educational spaces. The main area includes the wine production and tasting rooms, complemented by a gallery and workshop space. These additional functions enable visitors to engage with wine beyond its commercial aspect, allowing for cultural and educational experiences related to viticulture and regional traditions.

Technical information

The winery is designed to harmoniously fit into its natural surroundings and reflect the architectural language of local vineyard houses. The building’s layout accommodates functional zones for wine processing, visitor reception, and cultural activities. Careful attention is given to natural lighting, ventilation, and spatial organization to create comfortable and efficient work and visitor environments. Sustainable materials and construction methods are considered to ensure environmental responsibility. The multifunctional design balances the technical requirements of wine production with the experiential qualities needed for tasting, exhibitions, and workshops.
