Project idea

The objective of my bachelor's thesis was to develop a construction project for a
mixed-use apartment building, including a comprehensive technical report and project
documentation. The project primarily addresses architectural and structural solutions while
considering building services and structural stability.

Project description

The first above-ground floor features a mixed-use space, specifically a café, oriented
mainly toward the southwest, where multiple entrances provide access, along with an outdoor
terrace option. The main entrance for apartment residents is located on the northeast side,
where technical facilities (with a separate entrance), a bicycle and stroller storage room, and
a communal space for tenant gatherings with dedicated sanitary facilities are also situated.
The second to fifth above-ground floors, labeled as typical residential floors,
accommodate a total of 24 apartments. Each typical floor consists of six residential units:
two one-bedroom, two four-bedroom, one three-bedroom, and one two-bedroom apartment.

Technical information

The apartment building PAVLLS HOUSE is located on plot no. 588/2, on the outskirts
of the town of Senica, on "Hlboká cesta" Street. The building is designed on a flat plot as a
six-story structure, consisting of five above-ground floors and one underground floor. The
design incorporates a combination of a skeletal load-bearing system with a flat slab in the
underground floor and a transverse wall system in the above-ground floors.
Access to the underground level is provided via a ramp leading to a garage designated
for apartment owners, allowing direct access to the residential units via staircases or an
elevator. This level also includes storage units (so-called "cellars"), a storage room, and
mechanical rooms for air handling systems serving the first underground floor and the
commercial space on the first above-ground floor. The roof of the underground level,
extended due to the garage layout, is designed as an intensive green roof with a partial
elevation above the adjusted terrain.
The apartment building offers a high standard of living. Its façade is designed as a
ventilated system with fiber-cement cladding and concealed fastening.
