Project idea

"Egypt Space Gateway" introduces the inaugural scientific research community in Egypt, which is dedicated to space and astronomical applications. By imagining that the ancient Egyptians are still among us and will design this structure using their extraordinary skills and construction marvels while incorporating modern technologies through the establishment of a group of specialized laboratories, the architectural design embodies the Egyptian identity. In conjunction with an astronomical observatory situated at an approximate altitude of 100 meters, the project in Aswan provides an educational component for astronomy using a museum specializing in Egyptian historical collectibles pertinent to the field of astronomy. Furthermore, the project's location west of Abu Simbel guarantees specialized housing for scientists.

Project description

A continuous pathway influenced by the design philosophy of ancient Egyptian civilization provides a singular and distinctive spatial experience for the clientele of this undertaking. Its focal point is a planetarium that lacks a discernible structural framework, symbolizing the absence of gravity and the extraordinary engineering feat required to attain such an appearance. There is a gathering area beneath, and the observatory, which is the most vital component of the undertaking, is situated after the path. The astronomer was stationed in Abu Simbel, which was selected as a symbolic location for the first concept of astronomical observation in the annals of "Nabta Playa" over millennia.

Technical information

The concrete material was selected to symbolize steadfastness and power, in conjunction with a monumental scale to evoke scientific wonder and an ancient Egyptian quotation, contemporary lighting fixtures, and innovative concepts displayed on the smart screen beneath the planetarium. A contemporary screen has been installed in place of the information counter, which conveys the museum's internal operations and any astronomical concepts being discussed. A double facade to reduce heat gain in the structure, reflective flooring materials to prevent heat retention, and movement-indicating illumination components throughout the structure.
