Project idea

Our design theme is peace and light, reflecting hope for war-torn Ukraine. The fire station, primarily white, symbolizes peace, justice, and ties to the fire department. Emphasizing the well-being of firefighters, our layout shifts focus from vehicles to people. We address PTSD with living and working spaces and include a counseling center. Using metal and wood, we integrate Ukraine's natural resources into the structure. To mitigate bombing risks, the architecture blends discreetly with the industrial surroundings.

Project description

Our design theme is "Peace and Light," inspired by the current situation in Ukraine. We aim to bring hope to the war-torn region by using predominantly white tones symbolizing peace, light, and justice—the core values of fire departments.

The building will feature everyday work and living spaces, addressing PTSD among personnel.

We will include a psychological counseling center to help firefighters unwind and provide therapy for those experiencing PTSD from rescue missions in disaster zones.

Technical information

Due to Ukraine's status as a major exporter of metals and wood, we have chosen metal and wood as our primary structural materials.

Ukraine is known for its rich black soil and extensive forest cover, with forest coverage reaching 43%. The country produces high-quality red pine, spruce, and birch wood.
