Project idea

As the given site was in a more industrial area which is in Tejgaon, Dhaka, there were a gap between the residential zone and the industrial zone. So keeping that in mind the concept of this project was to bridge the gap between them and to create spaces that invites public more into the design. Also instead of typical podiums, a green plaza was introduced in the form that continues from the landscape. The form was placed in North South orientation to get the most climatic benefits. And respecting the pedestrian movements fluidity was brought in the form.

Project description

We were to design a headquarter of Teletalk. Teletalk Bangladesh Ltd. is the only government run mobile operator in Bangladesh starting journey in 2004. Teletalk now has a subscriber of 4.5 million. Yet they don’t have a proper headquarter. And their offices are scattered here and there. But now, in order to boost their business, management and services as well as to declare it’s strong presence in both national and international arenas, Teletalk has decided to build it’s own headquarters.

Technical information

This building consists of exoskeleton structure to make the interior spaces column free and also to get an aesthetic exterior.
All of the floor slabs are made of truss so that the exoskeleton structure could be connected anywhere in the floor slab.
The facade treatment was done using the extracted form from the structure.
