Project idea

La idea comenzo basandonos en un hilo y cómo al entrelazarse formaba una trama y asi coser la historia de cómo 1000 judios fueron salvados en la fábrica de Oskar Schindler. Partimos de un eje principal que vincula el sector norte con el sur, centrando en el norte lo cultural con el museo, talleres de exposicion y biblioteca; y al sur toda la parte de viviendas multigeneraciones con locales comerciales en la planta baja creando asi un pequeño edificio ciudad con espacios para fomentar las actividades comunitarias.
The idea began based on a thread and how it intertwined to form a plot, thus sewing the story of how 1000 Jews were saved in Oskar Schindler's factory. We started from a main axis that links the north sector with the south, focusing on the north the cultural aspect with the museum, exhibition workshops, and library; and to the south all the part of multigenerational housing with commercial premises on the ground floor, thus creating a small city building with spaces to promote community activities.

Project description

El proyecto cuenta con un terreno al norte, donde se realizo la restauracion, reconstruccion y refuncionalizacion de los edificios más importantes para poder dar lugar a actividades culturales con la resolucion de un museo en el edificio del Arka y la oficina de Oskar Schindler; biblioteca y cafeteria en el edificio de guarnicion alemana; y sala de exposiciones, talleres y gastronomia en el edificio de la Hilanderia.
El segundo terreno se ubica al sur donde se realizo un conjunto de viviendas y se refuncionalizaron dos edifcios con el fin de que ayuden a la comunidad con actividades recreativas y de turismo. Las viviendas se las concibieron como un edifcio- ciudad donde se plantean pasarelas como espacio de espacimiento y pertenencia de las personas que allí habitan.
The project has a plot of land to the north, where the restoration, reconstruction, and repurposing of the most important buildings were carried out to make way for cultural activities with the resolution of a museum in the Arka building and Oskar Schindler's office; library and cafeteria in the German garrison building; and exhibition hall, workshops, and gastronomy in the Spinning Mill building.
The second plot is located to the south where a set of houses was built and two buildings were repurposed in order to help the community with recreational and tourism activities. The houses were conceived as a city-building where walkways are proposed as a space for leisure and belonging for the people who live there.

Technical information

En todo el proyecto utilizamos vigas y columnas metalicas de perfil "doble T" con revestimiento de muros cortina de manera que se pueda diferenciar lo viejo (restaurado) de lo nuevo.
Throughout the project, we used "double T" profile metal beams and columns with curtain wall cladding so that the old (restored) can be differentiated from the new.
