Project idea

Public spaces are key built environment elements within neighborhoods that are intended to encourage a variety of physical activities, provide a variety of significant benefits, and serve a variety of important functions that improve the quality of life in cities (Chen 2016) [1-3]. Many developing countries, including ours, have a scarcity of open spaces and community spaces. People with disabilities, in particular, are underserved in our society in terms of their ability to connect and be included. They have no means or hope of leading a decent life, and a public system that lacks the basic facilities that tend to them, parks and community spaces are inaccessible to them; people with disabilities in Bangladesh are forced to live a life that mostly confines them within the four walls of their homes.

As a result, it is a fundamental right for people with disabilities to be able to enjoy the outdoors, to be included, and not to face discrimination. They should have basic recreational facilities as well as initiatives to integrate themselves with the local community in order to accelerate their development and become an integral part of the country's development. This project takes care of this by assisting them in promoting themselves, making meaningful connections, and creating a social hub. Where people of all socioeconomic backgrounds can learn and develop skills that will allow them to be more mentally resilient and explore their individuality. See their "dis-ability" as a benefit rather than a hindrance, and they have the "ability" to overcome this barrier and break free from the social stigma of being a burden.

Project description

The main concept was to have the site feel more accessible and also inclusive of other gender ,age groups to enjoy the park. The choice of making the roof more accessible making it more usable and increasing the green percentage of the site as other wise it would not be possible.
