Project idea

The assignment is to create an inspiring multifunctional space for young students. The space should serve as a modern computer classroom, space for robot programming, creative work on tablets, but also as a small meeting room.
The maximum use of space is achieved by using the communication cross when solving the space.

Project description

The design utilizes the maximum of existing elements:
The original concrete window sill just needs to be cleaned and preserved with a matte varnish.
The skylights in the corridor will be covered with a milky adhesive film, which will create a pleasant soft light towards the classroom and out into the corridor, as well as unify the otherwise white wall.
The space is designed in such a way that it can be easily used in various ways. It will primarily serve as a 20+2 computer classroom, i.e. 20 computer sessions for students + 2 options for teacher sessions with connecting your own laptop to the docking station. A creative space for 6-8 people, a small meeting room for 6+1 or a large meeting room for 28 people (after removing the computers), or as a classic classroom for 27+1.
28 places is the maximum possible hygienic solution.

Technical information

All materials used are chosen to age well. This means that wear will not reduce their usefulness, they are durable enough for the purpose and the appearance will still be presentable, even with signs of aging. To cover the floor, I chose large-scale PVC in the decor of exposed concrete. The main element of the space are tables made of 50 mm wide joinery plywood. The tables are arranged as one whole, which fulfills both the hygienic and communication functions in an all-in-one solution. Joiner's plywood is a very durable material and even with minor scratches it will still look very good.
There is also a completely covered, but still easily accessible cable management routed in the floor and then in the table.
