Project idea

The design is based on my idea of a view of a Croatian city, which I have broken down into cubic shapes. I tried to create a similar look and break the scale of the objects.

I formed the concept itself out of a large compact mass, from which I subtracted a 3x3 meter grid to create terraces for the use of the inhabitants. On the southwest side the building is very articulated and on the northeast side the articulation is moderated and there is a noticeable vertical circulation space that forms a compact tube.

Project description

Scope of the project is only studies.

Technical information

The building is based on footings, supplemented by foundation strips. It is designed as a combined reinforced concrete system, where the skeleton is used for freedom of layout and the stairwell serves as a reinforcing core. The reinforced concrete skeleton consists of 250 x 250 mm columns and 500 x 200 spans, and is supplemented by a 250 mm thick double-walled core. The double core is used to soundproof the operation of the lift. The horizontal load-bearing structures are made of 200 mm thick reinforced concrete slab. The infill masonry consists of YTONG with a thickness of 250 mm. The internal residential partitions are YTONG with a thickness of 150 mm. The perimeter structures are insulated with facade polystyrene of 200 mm thickness. The building is covered with a flat roof with a raised attic.
