Project idea

The cultural center is located in the Barrio la Concordia in Mexico City, proposes to collect a lot of different cultures within the area, expose different ideas through art, sculptures, presentations, audiovisual tapes, and various physical or graphic representations, where the fluid space of the whole project presents a continuity in the space to allow a direct connection with the project and art

Project description

The project located in the tourist center of Mexico City currently presents a chapel of great magnitude, which presents a bell tower under the patrimonial norm, we are presented with the project of making a cultural center that has exhibition rooms, presentation area.
A free floor access is made directly so that the traffic is not limited to the form of the building but it is continuous and you enter it quietly, from that first floor you can access different exhibition rooms, and the lower part of the cultural center and the chapel in which it was used in bell tower as the main object and a transparent structure is made that allows the entry of constant light to the chapel that presents a great vegetation giving the appearance of a greenhouse, , in turn in this access floor some columns are shown in stone, giving allusion to the materials used in ancient times by the Maya in their constructions, since the intention is to show all the architectural styles that are handled in the Mexican country, on the ground floor are the parking lots and three theaters, for cultural presentations or audiovisual projections
Already on the second floor this common spaces and temporary or permanent exhibition rooms and third floor presents a large terrace where you can appreciate much of the beautiful neighborhood of the countess, with the views to the representative Mexican buildings and the park Spain continuous to the project, the following floors are subdivided into administrative rooms, exhibition rooms and services
The project fits perfectly into the area, showing its imposing and at the same time simplicity in the implementation, where the project and the context become one where the only intention is to present the Mexican culture

Technical information

The building has different materials, as the main structure is reinforced concrete, oak wood, concrete tiles, porcelain interiors, different metal structures and glass
The structure is complete in concrete armed with a structural reinforcement and seismic insulators and dampers due to the seismic activity that presents the country
Finally, the vegetation within the project proposes to transport you to an idyllic place that allows you to enter the beauty that the Mexican country can be
