Project idea

The idea of the project is a solution of resisting a lack of park places in Beirut and the nearest to the city areas. THE PATH OF A NEW LIFE is about the red path that goes through the entire park and also passenger terminal zone. Both zones are tied by the unified system of pathways and circles that intended to be used by pedestrians, cyclists and people with limited mobility as well. There are several entertaining zones along the path. The actual start of the path is located at memorial sone where the disaster happened. And the end of it is right at the passengers terminal where the new adventure starts.

Project description

The project includes all zones that must be within the port area: the container terminal, the empty container zone, the conventional cargo zone, the silos building, the free zone, the passenger terminal, and the existing port administration with its parking. Also, as a new function recreational areas were located in a massive part of the port. Memorial area is interpreted as well, the base of it was taken by the shape of existing pool that was caused by the explosion. That is why the main red path starts as a bridge where people can stand at contemplate the Mediterranean sea and other part of the port.

Technical information
