Rebirth: connective memories beneath from wreck: the road to restoration after port explosion

Project idea

The idea was inspired by giving new or second birth to Beirut port after the country had suffered the Ammonium Nitrate explosion on the port dated 4 August 2020. The people had suffered a lot from the tragedy, where my idea is to help the local to be rescue from the incident.

Project description

The proposal consist of mainly port area and non-port area. Port area includes the facilities that are still currently running on the site, while non-port area ranges from residential, commercial, urban open space, industrial to cultural. This proposal categorized the design solution in terms of economic, social/cultural, environment and physical. This proposal aims to provide sustainable and resilience strategy to the local.

Technical information

The construction of buildings mostly is concrete with reinforcement.
