Project idea

The Ossetian Culture Center is a project to create a space for the preservation, development and promotion of Ossetian culture (traditions, customs, crafts).
The main figurative concept is to rethink the architectural forms and spiritual heritage and its symbolization in architectural and environmental objects. And thus to build the image of an ancient settlement in modern realities.

Project description

The project is divided into 4 spaces: Music Center, "Quarter of Masters", Museum, Park.
Music Center is a building for musical and theatrical performances. The music center includes two halls. The big one has a round shape which symbolizes the circle in which the villagers gathered to discuss pressing matters. The small hall, in turn, has the shape of a quarter of a circle. The basis for creating the external appearance of the Concert Hall was the architecture of the Dzivgis rock fortress.
"Quarter of Masters" is a space for the exposition of handicraft production in authentically equipped workshops. For visitors, it is possible to organize observation of the work of masters - artistic casting, wool processing and sewing of traditional clothes, pottery, wood carving, furniture manufacturing. It is also planned to provide club audiences for folk musicians, writers, Ossetian language lessons, traditions and customs. There is also a traditional cuisine restaurant with a patio; it is also possible to place a ready-to-eat store.
To create the image of the Quarter of Masters, mountain settlements and their multi-level structure are taken as the basis.
Museum.
The architecture of the Ossetian towers is taken as the basis for creating the image of the museum. The towers of different sizes are grouped and form an exhibition space. The museum part includes spaces for permanent and temporary exhibitions, an atrium space that can house art objects, film lectures and a library fund.
The park zone consists of an open amphitheater, a zone for holding fairs and a walking zone on two levels. Under the amphitheater there is underground parking.

Technical information

Technical solutions for the music center
The structural system of the building is frame-shell. It combines the outer load-bearing shell of the building with the inner frame when the shell works on all types of loads and impacts, and the frame - mainly on vertical loads. The compatibility of horizontal displacements of the shell and frame is ensured in the same way as in buildings of the shell-barrel system.
Foundation - pile-slab - solid monolithic reinforced concrete
slab 300 mm thick on a pile foundation. Columns - reinforced concrete, round section, with a diameter of 400 mm. Step columns are unstable.
The ceilings are solid monolithic reinforced concrete plates 300 mm thick. Partitions inside the building are made of foam concrete blocks
120 mm thick. Roof of complex shape, unexploited, 1200 mm thick. Stairwells and elevator shafts serve as vertical stiffening elements, are monolithic reinforced concrete walls 300 mm thick, have a closed shape.
Large areas of facades are represented by glazing. shell the structure is covered with fiberglass concrete slabs.

Technical solutions for the museum building
The foundation is tape monolithic. Rising under all carriers elements of the building and transfers the load from the building to the underlying soil. The device of the strip foundation is made on a sand and gravel pillow, which is covered with waterproofing on top to prevent it erosion by groundwater. The structural system of the building is wall, which is interconnected collection of vertical and horizontal carriers building structures that together provide its strength, rigidity and stability. Horizontal structures - floors and coverings of the building perceive the vertical and horizontal loads and impacts, transferring them floor by floor to vertical supporting structures. The latter, in turn, transmit these loads and impacts through the foundations of the foundation. The load-bearing walls are made of reinforced concrete 300 mm thick. The ceilings are solid monolithic reinforced concrete plates 300 mm thick. Partitions inside the building are made of foam concrete blocks 120 mm thick. The roof is flat, unexploited, 500 mm thick.

Technical solutions for the "Quarter of masters"
The structural system of the building is frame-wall. In this structural system by the main vertical load-bearing structures are the frame columns to which the load from the floors is transferred directly. Strength, stability and dimensional rigidity building is provided by the joint work of floors and vertical structures. Stiffening elements are stairwells, shafts elevators, flights of stairs, ceilings. The ceilings are solid monolithic reinforced concrete plates 300 mm thick. The foundation is tape monolithic. The columns are reinforced concrete, round in cross section, 300 mm in diameter. Step columns are unstable. Partitions inside the building are made of foam concrete blocks 120 mm thick. The outer walls are also built of foam concrete with a thickness of 300 mm.
The roof is flat, operated, 600 mm thick
