Project idea

The Medley Vintage is a high-rise mixed-use office building at the Center of Churcher Avenue at
Beherawi, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The project Target the combination of two Different Architectural Approaches focused on integrating both Approaches. Along with Creating a prodigious connection between humans & nature also. In this project, the area has a vast quality like predominantly experiencing a different Chronology. in addition to that a good climatic condition, street standards, infrastructures, Urban development, & Sustainable lifestyle.

Project description

The Medley Vintage is located at the center of Addis Ababa Next to Beherawi Theater at
Chercher Avenue is a Highrise Mixed-use Building Designed Based on the site’s Culture & Community needs. The Design is also, an urban Spark in the Area Conserves the Characteristics of its Surrounding Like integrating the Neighborhood’s Unique Design Facades Patterns Look & Qualities. The Main building Concept & Form Evolution base is also from this conceptualization
It’s a bridge between two different constructive movements on one side of the building the Neighborhood consists of a Modernism Architectural Building style & on the Other side Having a Postmodernism architectural building style accordingly. This building design is an
The amalgamation of Both Architectural Styles by combining local Form & Functional Activities. the site has a big influence on the development of the city. So, the juncture space comes along that which will have a huge impact on bringing these different activities into one space. That one space creates the connection for everything. For example, for the commercial activity improving the relationship between the seller & the user also for the office task based on the psychological impact of a high-rise building which will relate to Height to make the users feel like there are on the ground by integrating the juncture space with Nature. Over & above the facade is also designed based on the climatic condition of the site and by creating an enormous passive ventilation system & creating a comfortable interior environment.

Technical information

Over the building design, the functional arrangement has different levels of ordering for instance commercial activities on the podium, An Entertainment zone in the middle related to a Modernism concept (Theater, market, a recreational Spaces…) & the top-level office structures linked to postmodernism concept (functional arrangement, Newest innovation...) all concept based on the conditioning of the site, at last on the head an observatory & entertainment zone this prop up the main concept of melding., For the HVAC system created an atrium to make the building break a wind speed effect. As well for good ventilation, it is used building shafts to transfer air through the building levels, perforated façades for passive air gain, and a mechanical ventilation system for the basement this allied with creating a comfortable interior space & Coalescence Building Form. As well as For material and structure, utilizing pile footing structure for the foundation, stone column, load-bearing wall, and waffle structure, also for the podium, RC slab, curtain façade, and a concrete column for the tower. On the roof, generate a sustainable feature which is a roof garden, which uses rainwater and then filters it for the usage of toilet water. Including For sanitary and supply the building have a maximum of 4 garbage shooter on every floor level on the top of the building there are generator oil storage, water tank, and water pipes, in the basement, there are clean water storage, wastewater storage, gray water storage that connect to the municipality line and CCTV room, regard of electricity there is switch gear in the basement and electrical room in every level of the floor this linked with sustainability-related to HAVAC System also For parking and space accommodation, by distinguishing the area of the programs on every level and subtract it to the standard square meter per person and identifying the number of people on every floor then determined the space provided for the parking area and the number of circulation systems.
