Project idea

This project consists of a Souq, cafe and a restaurant. The concept of this project explores the use of colourful translucent recycled materials such as plastic in order to create multi-functional surfaces that act as partitions, seating, storage units, etc. Potentially fabric can also be added. Three primary colours are used, red for the Souq, green for the cafe and blue for the restaurant. As a result, the experience of overlapping translucent materials that occur throughout the space creates contrast and plays with light, colour, and shadows. In addition, the curvy partitions differ in height as one moves, creating a unique experience, as if the space keeps unfolding. Therefore, one will go through a unique journey around the space, exploring the Souq, café and restaurant.
