Project idea

From youth basketball leagues to adult exercise classes, recreation centers cater to a wide variety of ages, providing exercise, leisure and social opportunities for entire communities. Unfortunately, senior citizens are often unintentionally excluded from recreation centers. By catering activities solely to younger crowds, recreation centers miss out on a good percentage of the population and an opportunity for further community engagement.
Given the dynamics of life, it is necessary to create a solution for caring for the elderly, because at this age they more than ever want companionship and attention. The way of functioning of the Recreation Center for the elderly is such that it enables the care that is needed for them, but at the same time it also offers necessary or preferred activities from this age, so that they can stay in these spaces with much desire. Some seniors have enjoyed a positive use of leisure time throughout their lives and are able to find appropriate activities to adapt to their changing physical abilities and interests. However, other seniors may not be aware of the potential positive values of recreation.

Project description

Careful and attentive research of this paper, to achieve a better solution for the city, has had the theme "Recreation Center for the elderly." This research has been continuously worked on the basis of collective constructions of urban character, intertwined with urban design and design at the same time, together resulted in the final part.
Familiarity with the location has helped me a lot in further analyzing the current advantages and disadvantages, designing an adequate form and positioning other necessary factors from which I reached the finalization.
Through research done on this topic, I have been further clarified the basic requirements for facilities where the main attendees are the elderly.
This building is intended for the elderly, a recreation center for the elderly, planned to meet the optimal basic conditions in favor of each individual who addresses this center as a place for socialization and pastime, a safe place and with all necessary conditions as well as a residential shelter. The planning and design is done continuously in accordance with the urban conditions and the requirements of the design standards and always referring to the requirements of the future.
With the completion and planning of this center, all the requirements and needs of the elderly are solved, offering maximum comfort and convenience.

Technical information

The spaces of the building are quite large and there is a need to provide wider spaces without constructive obstacles. The planned construction to be used is combined: Reinforced concrete skeletal system and steel skeletal system. Reinforced concrete skeletal system will be used in the planned part for placement of rooms for short-term accommodation. In this part, the need for larger modules (spaces) between structures is not very great, so reinforced concrete can be used as a material. In addition to that part, reinforced concrete as a material will also be used in the foundations of the building.
Skeleton system from steel are mainly skeletal structures consisting of: Rods, Beams and Pillars. Meskat construction slabs can be constructed of reinforced concrete, relying on longitudinal and transverse steel beams. Also, reinforced concrete is used to build parts of the structure, such as: Sanitary joints, stair joints, elevator joints, as well as various channels for verticals.
With the use of steel structures we are presented with many advantages such as:
• Enable the realization of constructions with large spaces and heights.
• Easily adapt to the technological requirements of the ward.
• Enable their expansion, reinforcement and adaptation, without interrupting the production process
• Can be dismantled, transported and reassembled without significant material loss.
• Construction is done quickly and does not depend much on weather conditions.
• Due to the relatively small weight of the structure, it saves on transport, while the foundations have smaller dimensions.
• In weak terrains, static systems are easily used, where non-uniform system reductions do not have any impact on the structure.
