Project idea

This project is an attempt to create an interactive communal space by revitalizing the value and essence of Pati (Rest house in Traditional Nepalese Architecture) . The major idea for the project is to make people take pause from the hectic city life and enjoy the moment in nature, enhancing connectivity and integration with the environment. It combines traditional arts and craft with the modern and innovative technologies.

Project description

The design is inspired from the traditional building style built in two split levels that compliments the steep slope of the site. Upper level has an open entrance guided by two colonnades that leads to resting spaces. Then the lower level is descended through an open plaza staircase retaining the visual connection between two levels .The lower level is colonnaded with V- shaped posts from where people can enjoy the majestic views of the city and nature.

Technical information

Slope roof structure clad in traditional roofing tiles supported by modern V shaped posts and also traditional terracotta tiles and wooden flooring depicts the blend between traditional and modern style of architecture.
