Project idea

The intention is to mimic the old STU laboratories building by respecting its dimensions in the elevated volume and generate a surprise effect entering to this project.

Project description

The idea and spatial organization of the project its based in 3 points; the generation of a NEW LEVEL folowing the lines of the lowest level on the east side, and the highest on the west side; SUBTRACTION of a volume in the lowest level, generating a big central yard that links the differents activities located at that plan; and an ELEVATED VOLUME which mimics the old building of the Stu laboratories. This contains all the activities of the innovation center, conected by a core that includes the structure of the whole volumen.

Technical information

The project works as a large basement resolved by a modulated casetones structure. The elevated volume is supported by two columns in the center which support a large roof, 2 lower slabs hang from it in order to achieve less thickness in their dimensions.
General materials used: Concrete - Polycarbonate - Metal.
