Project idea

The project consists of a place to contemplate and make wellness retreats, formulating these spaces from the use of natural light as the main resource.
The main motivation for choosing this topic as a final project has been to try to explore a more phenomenological approach within the field of architecture, linked to the experience and sensations of the user. the project seeks to create a meaningful experience in which architecture transcends being an object and is a medium that defines space. then a visual and spatial experience is sought that is dynamic thanks to the movements of light and the atmospheric and spatial qualities that it generates.
By taking into account the use of natural light as the main resource, spaces begin to come to life through color changes and light movements during the day.

light and dark are essential components to create certain atmospheres. light defines everything that surrounds us so it has a direct effect on how we perceive things, and this transferred to architecture can impact the way we perceive a space.

In the project, the interior spaces are treated with light in such a way as to promote a sense of mystery within calm and contemplative atmospheres. Resources are used to illuminate that aim to generate spaces of tranquility and silence. The project seeks to move the visitor, paying attention to needs more related to well-being and health, involving man in a search for personal growth, creating a means of contemplation and exploration. From this emerge these explorations that seek through design a more complete and sensory rich experience.

Project description

The project seeks to harmonize with the natural topography of the site. For this reason, it is made up of two strips, which follow the profile of the mountain and where two different sequences appear as part of the route and the experience. The building is oriented so that the movement of the sun is perceived during a full day.

Technical information

The project is 100% resolved with the use of steel as a material. This has qualities that make it a very versatile material to solve a structure with large spans, as well as to solve small details thanks to its slenderness and rigidity. Among its disadvantages is its thermal behavior, which is solved with a ventilated façade system, accompanied by water channels that make a great contribution to thermal comfort. On the other hand, geothermal probes are used, which capture the energy and the constant temperature of the earth to deliver heat to the building in the coldest days.
