Project idea

After the explosion of August 4, the whole world is talking about the DEAD CITY. Beirut destroyed 7 times but recovered. “If it was a machine it would have broken down and if it was a man it would have been dead. ". But let's start by rebuilding hope, because hope is the first step to glory, to victory. After a death comes a life, it is the RENAISSANCE OF THE CITY. The project translates this trip that the city has lived carrying a hope in a glorious and prosperous future to that I present to you: The mirror of Beirut.
The Beirut Mirror, a door that should reflect the living image of Beirut, a city of hope, dynamic and historic life. The project being the gates of the city. The first notion of a gate was attributed to the gate of Ishtar in the city of Babylon in order to reach the gods. Our universe is Beirut, the heart of Lebanon, the cedar on the flag, a passageway between east and west and a city known since the Phoenicians, unfortunately it was destroyed several times.
Analysis of the urban fabric shows that Beirut lacks green space and a concentration of buildings, which leads to precarious neighborhoods and even slums. This is the case of Sabra and Chatila, a camp for Palestinian refugees transformed into an unhealthy neighborhood, a slum.

Project description

My architectural goal was to create a link with the city center on the one hand and on the other hand to design a green strip to prove the sign of life existing in Beirut. This green band brings together symbolic and functional qualities that are appreciated and sought after by visitors. The calm and clean attributes are symbolic values of the tranquility of a green space, of a park. The city is perceived by many as a space hostile to nature, the existing dynamic life should not exclude nature and the environment. A space for relaxation and recreation, a place for walking and discovering green nature, this public facility is very popular with city dwellers. In the public imagination, an urban park corresponds to a verdant island made up of trees and lawns.
Designing natural spaces in cities improves the quality of life in urban areas.
The system of structure and boxes refer to the old "souk of Beirut" used in order to produce an ecological project and freeing the ground for a totally green park. Stimulating, invigorating and invigorating walking remains the favored activity of visitors and walking is a way to relax and contemplate the spectacle of nature.
Thus a tower symbolizing the sign of life in Beirut is metamorphosed with a view to spreading in the area like the pulsations of hearts, creating two elements, signal at the entrance to the city. The second corresponds to the bridge. As for him, it is the complementarity of the tower that is unique. To this the structure branches out giving the impression of a shear like the pulsations of the hearts.
The recreation and life tower is thus presented as an icon of peace in Beirut, symbol of the green city. “Beirut, a story to tell…”.
BIRTH AMONG THE DARKNESS: BEIRUT, AN ENDLESS HOPE
