Project idea

Aleppo is a city in Syria. This city is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world; it may have been inhabited since the 6th millennium BC. The Battle of Aleppo (2012–2016) occurred in the city during the Syrian Civil War and many parts of the city suffered massive destruction. Our project is located near the citadel which is the heart of the city and it is surrounded by Bazar, mosques, and ancient places of Aleppo which are mostly demolished after the war.

Project description

The cultural center of Aleppo can be a starting point to bring back the good memories of the citadel and how the city was before the war. With this project, we aimed to rebuild a multi-functional building that can also remind the old atmosphere of the city.

Technical information

The highest point of this project is the dome that can show our cultural center from a fair distance. The building has two levels that include exhibitions, amphitheater, classes, worship saloon, and restaurant. This project is designed also with respect to existing building profiles and climate elements in Aleppo.
