Project idea

The project was born out of a childhood memory I have of the open spaces in the neighborhood I grew up in. When touring the lot where the project is located, I have identified similar components to my childhood neighborhood. Out of this identification, and the realization that private building takes up a lot of space and adds to the city's density, grew the aim to recreate the experience and living quality of a "suburb" in an urban context.
The project offers a new living module that preserves the values of rural neighborhoods, without wasting lands and adding to the urban density.
The project allows this new living module by duplicating the ground and offering lots for private build inside a tower.

Project description

The project starts with a public ground floor, where a community center is located. The main part of the project consists of five "living floors", each containing a shared space surrounded by four lots, where private homes can be built in any style desired. These floors are connected by a system of stairs and small gathering spaces, allowing both an outdoor way to move in the building and communal meeting places. The top floor of the project acts as a neighborhood park, adding more open spaces such as lawns and shadowed gathering areas, where community events can take place.
This model can be duplicated upwards as many times as necessary, according to the need of the city.
