Project idea

The concept of this built form is a leaking courtyard. The plan is a four square grid out of which one is an open courtyard, and then the separations of the four square form thickens to allow the courtyard to leak into the other squares. The intent behind doing this is to give back to the site because of the very forceful intervention.

Project description

The retreat is designed for either a single person or a couple as a vacation spot. The site has two beautiful views, one to an olive grove and the other to a sea. The site has three ground levels and the space is built on the second level between the trees and the sea and it sits inserted into the olive grove.

Technical information

The main structure of the retreat depends on the retaining wall which is often revealed in the interior spaces as well. The 4 square grid makes it possible to achieve clear spaces where structure does not need to intercept.
